We are excited to confirm that Archie Yates has been cast in the Disney+ reboot of the well-loved movie, Home Alone.
Archie will not be playing the iconic Kevin McCallister, portrayed by Macauley Culkin in the 1990 original. Instead he will play a brand new character in this exciting reboot for a new generation.
Also starring is Catastrophe‘s Rob Delaney, and Ellie Kemper, of The Office and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, is currently in talks to join them.
There is no official release date as yet, but filming will commence in early 2020, and the film will be released through Disney’s newly launched streaming service, Disney+, in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox.
It has been a very good year for Archie. He enjoyed resounding success as Yorki in Taika Waititi’s Golden Globe-nominated Jojo Rabbit, which premieres next month in the UK. Last week he was nominated for a Best Young Actor award at the Critics Choice Awards for that role.
A natural comedian with bucketfuls of talent, we have no doubt Archie will shine in his new role.
